netHOST LAN 网关透过传统以太网控制现场总线或实时以太网系统，不同于cifX Card，他不需要PCI或PCIe等接口，专为仅具备以太网连接接口的工业PC和嵌入式系统设计，连接到LAN埠后，netHOST即可作为一个自主运行的、功能完善的现场总线或实时以太网主站，支持周期性和非周期性通信服务。对于Windows系统可使用动态链接库 (DLL)，嵌入式系统则可使用C原始码，其 API 与 Hilscher的PC卡一致，使netHOST如同一张「可远程控制的PC卡」从而大幅简化了集成过程。
